We offer classes and workshops
Our new owner seminars take place monthly on our “Meds & Peds Day.” Potential new owners and those considering alpaca ownership at some point in the future are encouraged to learn more about these delightful animals by participating. Monthly each alpaca is given an injection of Ivermectin to ward against the meningeal worm. This gives us an opportunity to body score each animal and to check fiber production. These are both great indicators of an alpaca’s health. We also check nails and clip when necessary. New owners are encouraged to watch, learn, and take each step themselves. Do plan to include “Meds & Peds Day” in your subsequent visits to Woodcreek Farm. Shearing takes place only one day each year, normally in early May. A professional shearer is hired, and there is always plenty of work to engage visitors. We share a potluck lunch at the end of shearing. Call to learn the date, normally scheduled by early April.
